The Association for Environment Conscious Building (AECB)

The AECB is an association, which promotes sustainable building. This association includes builders, designers, manufacturers, architects, local authorities and housing associations. The aim of the AECB is to promote, develop and share best practice in environmentally conscious building. The AECB also delivers training to those in the sustainable building industry. This association is not an accredited body, but a network of companies and individuals with a common objective to promote sustainable building.

The AECB relies on membership subscriptions to fund core work. Due to financial independence, the AECB provides an independent voice to the industry when lobbying government and influencing agenda. UK Green Building Council (UK-GBC)

The UK-GBC is a membership organisation, which campaigns for environmentally conscious building practices in government and the media. The UK-GBC also offers an online foundation course on sustainable building, designed for professionals working in the building sector.

GreenSpec - The National Green Specification

GreenSpec is partnered with the Building Research Establishment (BRE). It is an online resource for those involved with environmentally conscious building methods and practices.

GreenSpec offers an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) service for manufacturers. The service offered includes a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), and this is based on data supplied by the manufacturer and others, if necessary. GreenSpec's EPD service also includes the preparation of an extensive report, which meets the ISO 14025 standard.
